Jump/Standup – You can jump upon crates and over small walls/into lower floor windows, but don’t expect to try and jump around like a mad man to avoid shots. You never saw a soldier bunny hopping around in WW2, and you won’t see it in this game! Run/Walk – Either use the key to press once and force run/walk or use the similar key instead to hold down to run (I use left shift so I can lean my little finger on it), which I find gives you more control. Use – To open doors, plant bombs etc… The use key is needed to perform many actions, and seems to be the action everyone forgets to assign a key to! Don’t be like me and run up to plant a bomb only to find you have no use key assigned and while I tried to quickly play about in the control menu I was killed and lost the round. I got a lot of abuse from my team mates (and rightly so!) for that. Never leave home without the use key! Reload – Although the weapons do reload automatically upon expending their magazines, it’s always handy to have a reload button. Only the M1 Garand rifle is unable to be manually reloaded due to the nature of its magazine. Always reload in a quiet area, and never ever reload near the enemy, especially when you have a pistol to back you up! Objects/Scores – Pressing the tab key anytime will display your mission objectives or the scoreboard. Useful to see how well you are doing (or how badly!). Drop Weapon – At times you will enter the battlefield and wonder what on earth made you choose the weapon you selected that at the time is as useful as a wooden stick. This is when you can drop your weapon and pick up a team mate’s or a new one off a dead, enemy player. Very useful if you selected a heavy weapon and have run out of ammo (since you only get 3 shots). Voice messages – The game has a vast array of voice messages to use, from talking to team mates to taunting the enemy which is always fun to do. They are not only required to help communicate, they also add an extra edge to the realism in the game.
Lean left/right – Now this has to be used. Having the ability to look around and shoot around corners by leaning over is very handy. It’s an ideal way to spot enemy snipers, where instead of stepping out around a corner and having your head blown off you can lean over quickly and lean back, thereby spotting any enemy with less risk of losing your head!
