Counter Strike - Playing CS

Note: To save me a lot of typing, Terrorists = T, Counter-Terrorists = CT.
The Hostages
 |
Hostages are found in the hostage rescue scenarios. They
can be made to follow the CT's or terrorists. by one of them walking up to
a hostage and pressing the use key (default E). This results in the
hostage saying something and he will then follow who ever last talked to
him. |
To stop a hostage following you, talk to them again (face
them and press the use key) and they will stop. There is no limit to the
number of hostages you can have following you :).
One tip for the terrorists, but
which can also be deployed by the CTs is using hostages as shields. A CT
will always hesitate if they see a hostage allow a terrorist to fire
happily behind the hostage :).
The VIP
Found
in 'VIP Scenarios'. The VIP unlike
the hostages is actually one of the CT players. Armed with a
knife as well as a USP pistol, and kitted out with kevlar armour, the VIP with the help of the other
CTs must make it to an 'escape point'. Once reached the CTs have won the
game. However with Terrorists lurking along the route, all hunting for the
VIP player must rely on his team mates to escort him as near to the escape
point as possible.
Although the VIP only has a knife and limited ammo for his pistol, he can handle himself in a close fight.
Sometimes it maybe better to have a go at a terrorist than to run away and get
shot in the back, and the knife becomes handy for this.

The VIP being supported by two CTs.
