Counter Strike - Playing CS

Note: To save me a lot of typing, Terrorists = T, Counter-Terrorists = CT.

The Terrorists


   Phoenix    ||   L337 Krew   ||  Arctic Avengers  ||   Gorilla 

These are the bad guys. Four models are on offer pictured above. The 'Phoenix Connektion' is harder to spot in darkness. However the 'L337 Krew' fits in with desert style maps and can almost blend in with his surroundings. The 'Artic Avenger' Looks good, and although wearing white, does not stick out. Instead his clothing aids him in hiding when around large areas of rock. Lastly the 'Gorilla Warface' model blends in well with desert and forest style maps.

Note: The menu above is the old version that can be seen when you turn off the vgui menus (click here for more details). Although there should be no need to turn off the vgui menus as they are more attractive than the version above :).

The Bomb
 When playing the Bomb / Defuse scenario always check for this symbol: . This means you have the bomb! One of the terrorists always starts the round off with the bomb attached to his back, and it's his job to plant it :).

There are usually 2 targets for the terrorists to bomb, both are marked with a large red cross. The CT's aim will be to stop the bomb from being planted or defuse it. So placing the c4 charge dead on the cross would be silly :). Instead you can place the bomb nearby (hide it behind a crate?), and generally do your best to keep it out of eye sight of any CTs. You can tell when your within the marked area by the bomb icon flashing
Try to keep it out of eye sight of the CTs who will know the second the bomb has been planted, thanks to the game echoing "The bomb has been planted" and any player's nearby will hear a ticking sound :).

Planting the bomb

1) Select the bomb (default 5 key). Knee down to the ground, and press+hold the fire button. 
A bar will appear which will fill steadily. Once full the bomb has been configured and is set...
2) ...Once left the bomb is armed, and will blow in around 45 seconds unless a CT defuses it with a defuse kit (5 seconds to defuse), or by hand (10 seconds).

Once the bomb goes off, any player from either team within the blast radius will die (no points are lost. I.e. you don't get a point added to your 'deaths' total), and the terrorists will have won that round.
